The Board of Directors of Awantec wishes to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Awantec
Systems Sdn. Bhd. (“ASSB”), has been awarded two (2) Letters of Award by the Ministry of Higher
Education (“MOHE”) for the provision of Google artificial intelligence (“AI”) tools, NotebookLM
Enterprise, and Gemini for Google Workspace to public universities. The Letters of Award were duly accepted by ASSB on 26 December 2025 and the details of the award are as follows:
(i) Provision of AI tools for students, with a contract value of RM10,616,832.00 (inclusive of Sales
and Service Tax); and
(ii) Provision of AI tools for lecturers and administrators, with a contract value of RM5,795,712.00
(inclusive of Sales and Service Tax).
The tenure of both contracts is thirteen (13) months, commencing on 1 January 2026 and expiring on 31 January 2027, as stipulated in the Letters of Award.
The deployment of these AI tools is designed to augment public universities' existing Google Workspace for Education ecosystem by integrating advanced AI-driven learning and productivity features. This initiative supports MOHE’s strategic digital transformation, specifically aimed at elevating teaching and learning outcomes and academic research productivity. By equipping students, lecturers, and administrators with personal AI assistance, this partnership seeks to cultivate a future-ready workforce capable of navigating an AI-centric global economy.
