CYBERJAYA, 9 DECEMBER 2025 – AwanBiru Technology Berhad (“Awantec”) today successfully concluded its high-level Awantec Cybersecurity Conference at the DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside, gathering approximately 40 elite cybersecurity professionals and industry leaders. Themed “Strengthening Malaysia’s Cybersecurity Readiness for 2026,”
The conference addressed the critical shift required in national defense strategies, moving from traditional perimeter-based security to a proactive Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) approach. The sessions underscored the urgent need for Malaysian organisations to adopt “visibility” as their primary defense against sophisticated threats, such as ransomware and nation-state actors targeting critical infrastructure.

Mr. Chok Joon Heng, Chief Operating Officer of Awantec, said “As we approach 2026, the fundamental challenge facing Malaysian enterprises is not a lack of investment in tools, but whether those tools provide the necessary visibility to detect threats that have already bypassed the firewall. We must shift our mindset from passive compliance to active validation. Awantec is committed to bridging this gap by equipping organisations with the capability to see beyond the perimeter, ensuring that our digital resilience is built on the foundation of complete asset visibility and continuous validation against real-world attack scenarios”. He added.
The conference featured technical deep dives from key industry partners:
Google Cloud Security spotlighted global threat intelligence, revealing the modus operandi of advanced threat actors like UNC3886 and urging attendees to adopt intelligence-led threat hunting.
CompTIA highlighted the imperative of empowering cyber talent through global certifications to address the skills gap.
OWASP Kuala Lumpur Chapter presented best practices for building secure applications to prevent data breaches similar to recent national incidents.
The event concluded with a strategic Fireside Chat titled “Bridging Visibility, Regulation & Readiness,” featuring distinguished panelists from the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), Kumpulan Wang Persaraan Diperbadankan (KWAP), and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). The panel explored the intersection of regulatory compliance and operational readiness, reaching a consensus that collaboration between public and private sectors is essential for a safer digital Malaysia. By facilitating these high-level engagements, Awantec continues to solidify its position as a leading technology and talent digitalisation enabler, dedicated to securing the nation’s digital future against evolving cyber threats.
