CYBERJAYA, 1 June — AwanBiru Technology Bhd (Awantec) has appointed En. Azlan Zainal Abidin as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective June 1, 2023.
Prior to joining Awantec, Azlan held various leadership roles in several companies in Malaysia, among others, most recently as the Group CEO of DNEX IT and eServices and Chief Enterprise Officer at Celcom Axiata, where he was entrusted with the full Enterprise P&L of the telecommunications company.
He had also served as the Country Managing Partner of IBM Malaysia’s Global Business
Services (GBS), leading a team of over 200 consultants where under his leadership where the group successfully executed GBS’s Digital Transformation plan, implementing new digital and
cognitive offerings along with an enhanced delivery and operating model, resulting in
substantial financial and signing growth.
Azlan holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Imperial College UK and a BSc in Commerce with concentrations in MIS and Accounting from the University of Virginia. Azlan is adept at establishing and managing strategic partnerships and relationships, excelling in leadership and communication to drive enthusiasm, innovation, consensus, and collaboration for critical business initiatives.
Azlan Zainal Abidin, the newly appointed CEO of Awantec, will be in charge of leading the organization's strategic initiatives, increasing its market presence, and further strengthening its position as a trusted provider of technology solutions.
