Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) in collaboration with AwanBiru Technology Berhad (Awantec) and Ministry of Finance (MOF), convened the Public Sector Digital Conference (PDiSA) 2021 which for the first time ever, was held virtually.

Themed ‘New Norms of Digitalisation: Empowering People-Centric Services’, the virtual conference rallied key digital leaders and local experts, from both public and private sectors in discussing possible initiatives and improvements for the Government to deliver highest quality of services - especially to the citizens.

Officiated by the Chief Secretary to the Government, YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Zuki bin Ali, PDiSA was graced by the attendance of MAMPU Director General, YBhg. Datuk Seri Dr. Yusof bin Ismail, and the former Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Jemilah binti Mahmood.

Key person from both public and private sectors, among others, President and CEO of Awantec, YBrs. Dr. Abu Hasan bin Ismail, Managing Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, YBrs. Encik Imri bin Mokhtar, Chairman of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, YBrs. Dr. Fadhlullah Suhaimi bin Abdul Malek and Managing Director of PLANMalaysia, YBrs. TPr Gs Dr. Shamsaini binti Shamsuddin, also participated in the conference.

Recording a staggering 4,000 plus virtual visitors, and more than 2,000 live stream viewers, PDiSA witnessed four vital focus areas being communicated in facing the digitalisation head on, namely Human, Process, Technology and Data.

Fully aware that digital transformation is no longer a choice, but rather a necessity, the Government urged for the technology players and digital leaders to double down on their efforts to ride the digitalisation wave with the nation.

With the idea of Digital Future, where all Government services are securely operated - both digitally and online, capabilities and competencies are to be developed within the public sector to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

As a Digital Transformer, Awantec is more than ready to underpin the idea into reality. Dr. Abu Hasan, expressed the Group commitment to foster digital competencies in addressing the new digitalisation demand.

“As we pivot ourselves to a Multi-Cloud environment and realising the national digitalisation aspiration, the way forward is to equip all talents, young and old, with in-demand skills, and integrate new competencies, to ensure we are ready to address the demands of Industrial 4.0.

However, in the name of realising the national aspiration of a trusted, secure and ethical digital environment, Awantec are more than ready to assist and underpin these efforts, in the spirit of public-private Partnership,” he added.
