  • Awantec Secured with Agreement With Nahrim for Cloud Computing Solutions and Services to Support R&D on Climate Change

    The Company wishes to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Awantec Systems Sdn. Bhd. (“ASSB”) has been awarded a contract to provide “Perkhidmatan Pengkomputeran Awam bagi Penyelidikan dan Pembangunan Perubahan Iklim” (“Letter of Award”) to National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (“NAHRIM”). NAHRIM issued the Letter of Award dated 1 March 2024 to ASSB, which was duly accepted by ASSB on 6 March 2024. The process of formalising the agreement between NAHRIM and ASSB is currently underway Under this award, ASSB will provide NAHRIM with Cloud computing solutions and services for climate change research and development (R&D), focusing on the implementation of HighPerformance Computing (HPC) solutions to run Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) models in the Cloud environment. The duration of the contract is thirty (30) months, commencing from 8 March 2024 and expiring on 7 September 2026. The value of the contract is RM4,958,868.60 (inclusive of applicable Sales and Service Tax). MOHE issued the Letter of Award dated 27 February 2024 to ASSB, which was duly accepted by ASSB on 28 February 2024. The process of formalising the agreement between MOHE and ASSB is currently underway. The duration of the contract is forty-eight (48) months, commencing from 1 March 2024 and expiring on 29 February 2028.
